"That's my point too. Eventually sure we can have machines with (or approaching) true human intelligence. Current ones are nowhere close. Systems are much better than before especially at data crunching and pattern matching (and hence mimicry which passes turing test). True sentience implies replicating the human brain (at least to some degrees) with true feelings empathy advanced decision making. No current AI is remotely close IMO. And btw it's the consensus among all computer scientists and companies. You can look it up"
