"There was no list posted today. Sat and waited to see and found they had one. No name female. No notes on behavior or condition. The date of intake and the name of animal control that took her in. I just got off the phone with the animal control officer a different one than I know. She was on a chain as long as he could remember legally. Just because something is legal doesn't mean it's anything close to just. They "got tired of feeding" her and stated it as a reason to dump her here. "Just met with the vet. She has severe heartworm. She collapsed on the way into his workshop and was panting heavily. She's stable now and resting. I just talked to two other rescues here and we are going to cover her expenses at a specialist near us here. She isn't healthy enough to be with other pups so taking her home isn't an option right now. She will spend the night here and tomorrow he will take her for better testing. She needs quiet and rest.
