"I also caught a data quality issue that almost fooled me. First: phantom wicks. Early backtests used Alpaca exchange 1m candle data. Looked great 92.6% WR on my best short filter. Then I cross-referenced against Hyperliquid 1m data (the actual exchange I'll trade on). Alpaca bars had highs during crashes that were 5-28% above what Hyperliquid actually printed. Those phantom wicks were triggering fake TP hits trades my backtest said I won that I never would have won in production.
