"Lots of ppl say teacher voice is important but then when the conference line ups are published or when the experts are selected or when the panels are put together or when the policies are curated they are continually left out. Its easy to say teacher voice is key but much more difficult to action it. It can require more work - teachers are harder to find it can even mean some conflict as you say no to some ppl to prioritise others it can mean a financial detriment as your organisation turns the dial away from big influencers in teaching spaces towards lesser known classroom practitioners."

"As Teachfirst plans to drop it's Russell Group uni requirements I say - Good The idea that having a certain level of degree or going to a certain uni is likely to make you a better or more elite teacher doesn't translate to reality. In my experience you can be as smart as you like and have zero concept of how to relate to young ppl in classroom contexts. I think it's a myth that based your IQ degree level or place of study that it's much more likely you will be a good teacher. Maybe someone like @dylanwiliam can shed more light on this though. "Just seen an FB ad that literally says Plan lessons in minutes with XYZ AI It creates slides with images instantly. Bobs your uncle done. Well I can confirm that it cant do proper thinking for you. It cant piece together parts of a lesson and construct a picture of how it might go for you. It cant decide whether something will or wont work with a particular class for you. It will give you plenty of generic stuff. It can give you some ideas sure. It can help with content knowledge yep.
