"I love how Trump ends his threatening letter to South Korea with an Orwellian "you will never be disappointed with the United States of America" when this very letter is the US unilaterally breaking the 2007 KORUS free trade agreement that they have with South Korea. Which means incidentally that contrary to what the letter states South Korea charges X% tariffs on US goods already"

"You couldn't make it up. France's Foreign Minister says that the "new deadly attack by Russia against Ukraine" had "a single goal: to massively kill civilians." He calls it "limitless barbarity." The truth: the attack caused X death One death too many sure but this sort of hyperbole is just completely irresponsible coming from a senior government official all the more when the same guy systematically ignores or downplays the actually massive murder of civilians in Gaza day in day out"

"Beyond all the rhetoric the facts are pretty telling: this week the Australian Prime Minister will meet Xi Jinping for the 3rd time (the other two times were November 2023 and November 2024) and he hasn't met Trump once yet. Another sign of the underlying reality that I wrote about in my article "Has America in fact already withdrawn from Asia" (link in next tweet): when you look at facts beyond the "pivot to Asia" rhetoric the US-China contest in the region is already over"
