"Elon Musk completely destroyed the algorithm in his attempt to fight the bot plague on this platform. However in doing so he demolished any chance for new accounts to grow because heavy weight was placed on accounts that already have a lot of followers. Now he's putting things back to how they were. it has been absolutely miserable trying to grow on X since musk took over. Hopefully the "new" changes will help fix this"
