"This is a common argument I see for Notre Dame joining the B1G. But heres the thing: they dont align academically at all. The B1G are almost entirely big public research schools with typically high acceptance rates. ND is a tiny primarily undergraduate university with low acceptance rates. ND would benefit from the BTAA but they arent an academic fit. Northwestern and usc are the exceptions"
