"Let's be accurate. a used Land Rover is just a massive repair bill. Same for any BMW after around 2003. Electrical problems out the wazoo. (My XX BMW 540/6 was wonderful I'm sorry I wore it out) Escape has bad transmissions. Taurus auto trans goes out after around 150k miles. However. my daughter bought a mint condition 2017 Subaru Legacy for $12k. I got a cherry and rare 2012 Cadillac CTS wagon for $10k. You can get the CTS sedan for $7k and they are surprisingly good handling cars. There are deals out there. Look for passenger sedans they sell for a lot less than the bloated SUV's"
