"well yes but in the case of animal crossing pocket camp they made a new version of the game that no longer recieves updates but is still accessible to play and players that have spent money on the game can still acess their collections and play the game they spent that money on if the sims X ever stops recieving updates we'll continue to have access to our endless dlc's so yeah sure games get discontinued or stop getting updates but completely removing access to a game people have invested money in is kind of gross from a major company like ea that could easily implement other solutions"
