But when someone uses your product if you value them you still usually support them. It decreases the chance that they stop using your product. Obviously you can just let your product speak for itself but if you have a great product and you push the "customers" who use them away most customers go look for another product that does a good enough job to suit their needs"

Polygon incubated Katana with a XX% airdrop to POL stakers using that same technology. Polygon PoS roadmap has included becoming an L2 for a longtime. Proving costs are too high. The Ethereum disease of tech superiority and alignment hit Polygon once with Polygon zkEVM. It is not happening again.
