The first two that did were where industrialization first took place and economies that had grown wealthy off non-slave-based labor. Theres no abolition gene in western civ. Theres a much better argument that theres an emancipatory gene in Islamic civ since the Quran and Sunna were unprecedentedly obsessed with freeing slaves and manumission was an aim of the shariah (articulated as such in various forms at early as the 700s)"
