A 2021 Rio email confirms our requirement of tighter controls; Evidence suggests off-mandate spend. Litigation hold issued. Records must be preserved. IN emails in my possession ----The $20m EOT funds which we negotiated was provided to ensure governance controls and was established under the direction of Mr Elias Scafidas (previously) Managing Director Project Governance & Controls Rio Tinto Copper Group (Singapore) required that: ➡All disbursements be tied to executed Statements of Work; ➡Budgets and deliverables be itemised; ➡Marketing PR or cultural promotion be explicitly excluded; and ➡All use of funds meet Rio Tintos audit and OECD compliance standards.
