"While I dont believe there will never be a successful new L1 again the bar is rising fast as leaders like Solana achieve escape velocity. My sense is the classic general-purpose go-to-market strategy will slowly die out in favor of app-specific first. Hyperliquid may be the best example of what this currently looks like first finding PMF and achieving dominance in an initial market then expanding more generally afterwards. The alternative is to face a textbook cold start issue within a saturated market with increasingly strong incentives to just build on the already winning platforms"
