"After looking around a bit I think I'll install Pop_OS XXXXX (it is still beta but almost RC ready) which has the COSMIC DE instead of GNOME. I remember having used Pop OS some time back as it came installed on a System76 laptop and it was good. Mostly Ubuntu + they had the default drivers configured well. Bonus: Cosmic is written in Rust and seems to be less bloated than Gnome. Also might be a good opportunity to try and work on some desktop apps. The Cosmic music player code looked like something I might like to contribute too 🤔"
