"That hasnt been my experience but I understand that the most extreme voices often get the most attention and maybe some of the most extreme members on the left have been hateful. They certainly dont represent me & I think there are lots of people who lean left who dont hate America. One possible problem is that algorithms tend to promote whatever gets the most engagement so I suspect that both sides of our political spectrum probably get exposed to the most extreme versions of those on the other side of them politically. But regardless of what anyone else feels I love our flawed but glorious"

"Bc we dont want this house that belongs to the American people to be destroyed. Trump also never got the required approvals necessary to make these sorts of changes. Not everything is about money. Many of us dont like the way this change will look and we really dont like that a ballroom is added to this building. It is not related to governing the American people or democracy. Its a ballroom which is a space for holding balls"

"I don't doubt that Trump is claiming he has presidential authority but has this been adjudicated He may in fact be on solid ground. I haven't seen anything about this other than what the WH is claiming. My understanding which I will happily admit is limited is that the regulations regarding any changes that alter the structure and look of the building are are great than those governing interior changes. I know that it's not being paid for by the taxpayers. I'm very happy about this and think it's great that Trump chose this route over using taxpayer money for this"
