Her BFF from Undergrad now a PHD Bio-Chem works for a co in NYC.many of of their grad class now working living in U.S. Daughter really loves it there. Better salaries opportunities standard of living. Canada is in BIG trouble. Many American Co's are a magnet for best brightest most ambitious. Daughter started with Mag X Co in Palo Alto. We've spent lots of time with her there & in SD. CDN's have no idea the # of CDN STEM talent grads working there--or what we're up against wrt to the HUMUNGUS pool of risk capital"

"Vibrant tech/start up economy needs a world class Eng U near by. Good news UBC is that Tech co's in Silicon Valley pay the most for grads from the Mag X Eng schools. UBC U of T Waterloo Cal Tech Stanford Georgia Tech MIT. They consider those grads to be the 'best trained.' IMO with the right conditions(tax regulatory enviro) YVR-Whistler corridor should & could be a magnet for world class talent & risk capital. The goal should be multiple unicorns being created in B.C. . wake me when all three levels of gov't get the memo"
