"DAR used a small Fichtel and Sachs engine while the modern Shahed XXX uses a Mado MD XXX that traces back to the German Limbach L550E. Analysis of captured Shahed XXX drones used by Russia in Ukraine shows a pattern of adapting foreign parts including a Texas Instruments TMS320 processor and a Polish sourced fuel pump acquired through a UK company alongside the Mado MD XXX. That pattern of using off the shelf foreign components reinforces the link between early Western work and later systems"
