"Capitalism is extremely good at mobilizing resources to solve problems if the rewards are clear. Government involvement in healthcare conspires to constantly move the goalposts. No wonder it's much easier to fund AI girlfriends than AI doctors. Talking to companies I work with some examples from today: - Medicare reimbursement for telemedicine is turned off for the government shutdown kneecapping a couple months' revenue - One state is being lobbied by nonprofit healthcare providers to ban new market entrants for senior care that could effectively cap our expansion - Nobody knows what will"
