"From the what I think I know I think I know. For $ACHR and other companies you will have 6-8ish type conforming aircraft that will be sent for TIA testing. I believe one could get the components per se while another is giving different flight control TIA test data. Now once the aircraft is through TIA you can get an STC (Supplemental Type Cert) which would allow the alteration to be certd for a conforming aircraft - you can even STC a hottub on a PJ if I am correct - just saying STC doesnt have to be scary and is known to happen"
