"feel like an under-appreciated source of weakness is just general book cleanup after an event like 10/10. should surprise no one that a lot of people running other peoples money got caught offside. most of them hold spot to manage risk. if they were hedging shorts and got ADLd protection disappeared and they had to sell the hedge fast. if they blew up on the long side they now have to aggressively sell spot to raise capital or worst case return liquidity to investors. explains why spot is so heavy good news is its more of a ripple than structural failure especially assuming theres a sidelined"
