"It really depends on a DeFi protocol. Hosting on Hub puts you in an environment constrained by Hub logic. You cant make Hydration with all its custom features on Hub for example. Since parachains will be pretty integrated into Hub (you will be able to call parachain pallets with smart contracts) traditional fragmentation wont be that bad. And ofc it tends to be eliminated completely as Polkadot develops"
