"If you invest 10000 out of 100000 in one stock and it doubles your total money becomes 110000 thats a XX% gain. But if you invest only 2000 that stock has to go up X times (to 10000) just to give the same XX% gain. Its much easier for a stock to 2x than to go up 5x. Thats why owning too many stocks is not one of the best strategies out there. A few solid ones can make a bigger difference"
