"We've seen gas fees on @union_build spike on certain chains. Its not because the devs are slacking cross chain bridging is just gas heavy by nature. (Not necessarily large but considerably higher that simple token transfers) You're interacting with complex smart contracts on both chains and when one side (like Ethereum) is congested fees skyrocket. Bridges can't override that. Devs can optimize contracts but they cant control network demand or base gas prices. This is the cost of true interoperability"
