"He can try but the SCOTUS would ultimately leave him in office. Trump can demote him however from his Chairman of the Board of Governors as there is precedent for that as Truman demoted Marriner Eccles with days left as Chairman. Eccles stayed on as a Governor to finish his term. He continued harass Truman with his firm stand against the inflationary policies he wanted to pursue until the 1951 Fed-Treasury Accord. I think Powell will re-affirm his hawkish stance at Jackson Hole due to the CPI report on August 12th then the FOMC holds firm in September. That's what triggers the demotion IMHO"
