"It seems "bandit" is your favorite word but you should know that this is the very term colonizers used to label the MAU MAU who escaped British control and started resisting. It's a colonial slur used to delegitimize resistance. Also FYI in 1887 the British arrived in the Northern Frontier District (NFD) which was then part of Lower Juba Somalia. It was around way before Italy and italy got the other half from British. This is why I say NFD and kenya dont have the same history.
