"The dark truth is this no one wants to talk about kids being abused in our care system. But its happening right now. Ive sat with boys inside HMP/YOI Cookham Wood and Moorland YOI. Ive listened to their stories stories of gang life survival and fear. Some of them are too scared to even speak too broken to be heard. Boys are being abused. Boys are being raped. Thats the reality. We cant keep sugarcoating it pretending its not happening because its uncomfortable to hear. Until youve lived it breathed it and seen it with your own eyes like I have you cant truly understand how deep this pain"

I came back into the care sector XX years later this time as a professional only to see that nothing had changed. And today our most vulnerable children are still being preyed upon exploited and turned into a profit-making mechanism. "1992 I was in a childrens home run by paedophiles. XX years later in 2007 some were finally prosecuted. Some had gone on to work in schools. XX years on from that in 2025 children are still being abused exploited and raped. Decades have passed yet nothing our governments past or present have done has stopped it. Our most vulnerable children and young people in our care system will continue to suffer and unfortunately many will die prematurely due to past traumas and social neglect. "Many years ago I was invited by Sally Jameson MP for Doncaster to Moorlands HMP/YOI to deliver workshops for young boys from the care system who had been groomed into gang life and crime. It was one of the most powerful sessions I have ever experienced. The raw honesty and courage those young men showed revealed the brutal reality behind the term county lines not a headline or statistic but human lives torn apart. That experience became a turning point. It helped spark a campaign to expose the abuse and exploitation of boys in care an issue too often ignored yet one that devastates futures"
