"Out of all shorts I think you are the most rational and are willing to have real dialogue. Firstly they underwrite and sell off their loans (except 5%) so maybe their gain on sale spread is lower. Regardless they do NOT hold the liability (that is how they are able to mark gains on the sale of the loans). In terms of fundamentals I agree they trade at a premium but deservingly so. They are growing volumes 45%+ while $KMX carmax contracted with substantially higher margins (even when normalized) and achieving real additional efficiency gains. Which are you willing to pay more for"
