"I am a lawyer Dan. And I can tell you that vetting a story so that it meets the NYT v Sullivan standard vs vetting a story to confirm that it is factual/accurate are X entirely different things. I think doubts regarding the authenticity of a XX yr old letter that suddenly appears and is allegedly penned by the most publicized man in the world when said man has not only run for but has been elected POTUS twice may be well founded. Lets dont act like todays 4th Estate is filled with a bunch of Walter Cronkites though"
