"We recently came across this paper: "Increasing Threat of Deepfake Identities" (link in comments). There are many oh so many insights but for now we wanted to focus on this particular one: Deepfakes are accessible to virtually anyone with modest technical skills and minimal resources. The threat landscape has changed and it has done so very quickly: - Democratization of capability. Anyone can do it. - Asymmetric threat/Arms race. (Deepfake) Generation is way really WAY FASTER than detection. - No sophistication needed. Whereas sophisticated attacks may come from nation-state the sheer volume"
