"Was listening to Business Breakdowns @bizbreakdowns on Berkshire Hathaway today and one point that really stuck out was "Float" Berkshire generates float through insurance. Meaning: 1) Berkshire's insurance business collects premiums (money in) from customers. 2) They hold onto this money until they need to pay out claims (money out). 3) The "float" is the money they have in between these two points in time.
