Many major US companies, including IBM, Microsoft, Amazon, and American Airlines, have recently announced layoffs, with some citing restructuring and others using AI as a reason, although some argue that AI is being used as a cover for cost-cutting. The layoffs are affecting thousands of employees, with some being let go due to outsourcing and offshoring.
