They aren't as form fitted so as long as you hold the cuff wide when putting them on to avoid the dew claws they shouldn't irritate it. They would have the extra space. I'm also a big fan of the Canada Pooch suspender boots. They also aren't so form fitted around the paw and I've seen a lot of dogs be much more comfortable in them a lot sooner than traditional boots. It would be worth a trip to a pet store to try on a pair"
