"I will explain it. Its a lot of different scenarios that can make this happen but since you asked for the 5-year old version. X. The interest on your national dept is growing at a unhealthy speed. 2025: $1b. 2024: $850b 2023: $670b X. DOGE claim to save/cancelled contracts worth $71b. The total spending 2024 was approx. $675t. That's 1%. if you compare the $71b to federal contracting obligations only that they are part of. Then its approx. 10-12% that DOGE saved. They reality is that when you cancel a contract it can sometimes cost you money. E.g. the contract was for X years with $XX per"
