"faking GitHub activity is now accessible to anyone. at the first look it's easy to make contributions look legit. and the problem isnt new tbh but it's a lot more obvious now. weve been in this cat & mouse game since 2024. people tried farming @TalentProtocol Builder Score on day one (and they still do nowadays ofc). the only way to fight any type of bad data is by making it verifiable and contextualized. you can fake contributions but you cant fake legit contributions. this is one of the many reasons why reputation matters. 🫡"
