"Be Japanese invest your heart and soul into a very avant garde game--and somehow achieve critical success. Get snubbed at awards show because this year is an anti-corporate referendum against Ubisoft and an underdog indie rags to riches story that sweeps all awards. In a normal year Kojima's game would have taken home at least one award and his honor would still be intact. Instead because this year turned into a anti-corporate circlejerk with the judges (when even other indie titles like Silksong got snubbed) it sucked up even the minor awards leaving games like Death Stranding X and Kingdom"

"I'm not a Kojima fanboy I was actually trying to point out something about how these awards shows are supposed to work. Usually you don't see a sweep like this because they make sure to spread out the awards to earn favor with industry insiders. This year went against that trend. Also in Japanese culture you'd have deference to a director like Kojima and consider his face at least giving him a minor award to preserve his honor"
