"dYdX degraded (and later the team even sold) right after they decided to move off Ethereum. Most projects that move off Ethereum or decide not to launch as an L2 focus way too much on building their own infrastructure instead of improving their product. This was dYdXs downfall and its something Hyperliquid did differently: they launched a killer product first. "I seriously hope one good thing that comes out of DATs is more core dev funding as I think that would be in the best interest of every major long-term ETH holder. I'd also love for e.g. Rocket Pool to integrate a strictly opt-in way of forward-paying a share of staking rewards to the Protocol Guild without triggering a taxable event. When ETH goes where I think its going even a tiny allocation of staked ETH to protocol devs will be gigantic. Obviously ETH going up would also solve most problems for the EF as even conservative fund management would be enough to increase salaries by a lot. I"
