"At Degen were taking the opposite emphasis: social first wallet/trading second. We dont think decentralized vs centralized alone is enough PMF for most users (privacy can be decentralization usually isnt). But decentralization here also means open. They switch when the product gives them new social outcomes: better reach better status games better communities better creator economics. Thats the surface were building on. Open rails matter because they keep the power at the edge. Creators on closed platforms lost distribution to opaque algorithms. On open social your audience link is durable and portable. If a client turns bad you dont lose your graph"

"If I had to bet on centralized versus decentralized social winning I always pick decentralized. Open tech usually beats closed tech in the long run because the surface area for innovation is bigger. It might look slower early but it compounds. Farcaster is a good example of why. Its been the launchpad for so many great projects Degen included. It still feels unreal that we could go from a $5k liquidity pool to over a $1B market cap. That doesnt happen on closed platforms with fragile permissions and opaque rules. That happens when the graph is open builders can ship without asking and users"
