I think natural market forces create a draw into cities such as Dublin. The greater network generates more opportunities more amenities better night life etc. The economic forces create more opportunities in cities for this reason. The restrictive planning laws in Dublin and lack of ACTUAL PLANNING created a huge supply-demand imbalance. Transport is the problem and the solution. Take the likes of Maynooth Cellbridge etc. They are doing very well as towns.
