First the broadstrokes usually done over a basic deadbit template (face/body). Based on an image reference rough shadows/coloring is added before finally the outlines and final details. During this process the image is zoomed in and out many times just to gauge if any details are lost when it's zoomed out to the size of an X PFP. This we believe is the strength of pixel art. You use drawn line art and it becomes a mush of colors on several platforms."
