"The next phase of Berachain will upgrade the chain to reward value itself via new rewards vault standards. Theyre a small departure from the existing standards. Rather than deposit a receipt token issued by a DeFi action (eg 4626 LP) ERC20 is issued by the protocol itself to reward a user action. A small number of teams have already built versions of this - using RVs and dummy ERC20 tokens to allow them to stream rewards to users creating fees via things like perp DEX volume. But thats just the surface - having a general standard for this means that applications can target not just actions"

"One of the hardest things for the Ostium model to overcome vs a CLOB/@hyperunit model is the passive LP overhead (lots of bad flow). In the past XX months if you were in their LP vault you only earned X% - barely beating RFR with a ton more risk. Passive LPs also took a large haircut on 10/10 due to the LP serving as the liquidity of last resort when other venues thinned out liquidity amidst volatility. The upside + potentially better UX for traders makes for downside on the passive LP which in turns makes it harder to scale the liquidity on the platform. Not unsolvable but definitely a"
