"Not good news for job seekers: The hiring rate fell back to XXX% in October. This is one of the lowest hiring rates since the Great Recession era (when unemployment was 7%+) Yes job openings ticked up in October but it doesn't matter if it's not leading to actual hiring. Keep an eye on the hiring rate. This is a key reason Americans are frustrated in this economy. #jobs #hiring #economy"

"Let's talk about affordability in America. 1) It's true that *average* wage gains have grown faster than *average* inflation since the pandemic. But not by much. 2) Look at the "Big 5" of affordability -- food housing electricity childcare and healthcare. X of those X have grown faster than wages since January 2020. /1"

"Yikes. ADP employment report shows -32000 jobs lost in November. Most industries were doing layoffs. The only ones still are hiring are hospitality and healthcare. But look at employment by firm size. There's a K-shaped economy among firms too. Larger companies are still hiring. Smaller firms (under XX workers) are doing the layoffs. It's been a very tough year for small biz due to tariffs and more selective spending from lower and middle-class consumers. #jobs"

"Wow. Dissent is back a the Federal Reserve. X people voted against today's cut. --The most dissent since 2019. And check out the "dot plot." X people did NOT want to cut today. "Summary of Fed Chair Powell and the rate cut today: 1) Don't expect more rate cuts any time soon. 2) Job creation may be *negative* right now. 3) Fed more optimistic about 2026 4) Lots of dissent at the Fed. Median expectation is for only X rate cut in 2026 5) Powell focused on handing off a strong economy to his successor in May. 6) The Powell Fed will ensure "ample reserves" in the financial system"
