So Im going to drop a truth bomb Americans may not like: X Basically the only tool hospital debt collectors have is the ability to hit a persons credit for nonpayment. If you take that away the debt becomes mostly uncollectible. X Hospitals are required by law (and ethics) to treat a person no matter their ability to pay or paying record. X If medical debt becomes uncollectible Americans have to start seriously considering socializing medicine"
