It provided market liquidity and an incentive to lend the money out; hence increasing spending consumption leading to higher economic output. Furthermore it devalues the currency to incentivise exports. So long the economic output grows faster than inflation the surplus money supply created will be negated"

"How did the commercial bank originally acquire them in the first place to sell them back to BoE. that sale goes on the balance sheet as a liability which they pay off early and clear the debt. They fund the buyback with their cash reserves which they always hold a float - irresponsible if they do not have one. The gilt revenues are constantly renewed with pay back & resales - the revenue is split between maintaining a reserve invested in assets and loaned to the gov for spending"

"Again it doesn't and I don't understand why you are struggling with the principle of bond yields. Increasing liquidity in a market by borrowing against a bond value that's increased but not realised yet is not the same as MMT that has no security of value other than the hope giving the public sector more money will create growth. Bond yields can only be reduced so much until they become an unviable investment. Furthermore there is a finite number of bonds that are active and can be bought back you cannot issue more and but then back as this creates increased bond supply that will increase the"
