"Crystalline Silicon-based solar panels (as in the photo above) don't contain any heavy metals at all Only Thin-Film panels using Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) do contain heavy metals like cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) but they are made only by First Solar in USA exclusively for the U.S. market. Even these are safe by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards but need to be properly disposed at the end-of-life after XX years. For context coal fly ash (from fossil fuel plants) contains 40x more lead 1.1x more cadmium and 4x more selenium than these soils"
