"Look at this "niche" (for lack of a better word) cut on the wall of that cave near Cusco. According to archaeologists these cuts were made by the Incas. I'd like to draw your attention to the mineral deposits that cover it. Flowstones in caves form very slowly but could they have formed in the [---] years since the fall of the Inca empire I guess it depends on the amount of water that flowed over these surfaces and how much calcite and other minerals it contained. While a wet ground is not ideal for Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) as water attenuates the radio signal and reduces its propagation velocity it is beneficial for Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) as it increases the conductivity and reduces the resistivity of the ground. And as you can see on the image below a recent ERT survey has yielded good results with the location of a potential chincana. Stay tuned. I"
