State Bank of India (SBI) has recently launched several initiatives to enhance customer experience and promote financial inclusion. The bank has introduced new services, including the SBI Digi Paisa CBDC, a digital currency that allows customers to make instant payments with zero transaction fees. Additionally, SBI is recruiting Specialist Cadre Officers for various positions, including Manager Credit Analyst, and has also launched a special campaign, "Special Campaign 5.0", to promote cleanliness and minimize pendency in government offices.

"During the 1962 Sino-India War the enemy forces attacked the Chip-Chap Galwan and Pangong areas of Ladakh on the night of 19th/20th October 1962. Lieutenant Colonel (then Major) Dhan Singh Thapa was commanding the forward post in Sirijap. After receiving intensive mortar bombardment and artillery fire the post was attacked by the enemy on 20th October 1962 with overwhelming strength. Under his brave leadership the heavily outnumbered position repulsed the attack suffering severe losses at the hands of the attackers.
