Once a medication goes into human trials they weed down the pool of test subjects to the best fits mentally physically genetically in terms of allergies a d sensitivities etc. They do this so after the final trials are done they can report the absolute smallest number of deaths or side effects even if they're marketing the drug to people FAR worse off than their test candidates. Keep that in mind when you see something like "oh this medication makes 0.1% of test subjects explode into a pink mist". The real number is likely 10-100x that."
