"If she had taken the $1M lets say got $650k after taxes if she kept $50k (more than X year of payout taking the weekly payment) and invested $600k she could have $4M in XX years and $45M in XX years whe shes retirement age. With $1000/weekly she gets only $52k/annually. If after taxes she is able to invest $35k of that shell have $2M in XX years and about $28M in XX years. If youre currently employed in a 6-figure role where the avg pay is $150k youre likely getting qualified for roles within +/- $30k of that. So a remote job at $120k office job at $180k"

"Dont focus on the wrong thing. That credit score dropping is temporary & insignificant. It will go back up in a couple months. Being debt free can be FOREVER Take the money you were paying on your car and either use it to pay off all other debt or start putting it into a Roth IRA immediately"

I hate to see anyone liquidate that money but at the same time student loan debt payments can be crippling & prevent any real investing saving. But theres a solid 30-40 year time horizon & he can rebuild his 401k and taxable brokerage with the extra funds"
