"American car companies like stellantis Thats mostly European companies fused together and headquartered in Hoofddorp. In the Netherlands. Do you mean General Motors because they dont even have CarPlay and android auto anymore I think. And if you listen to the people who run that its specifically so they can figure out how to make good ux now. Apple and google probably are working on deeper integrations of CarPlay with cars sure. But then youd also need the app developers to do it and thats not happening. They like that their app just also runs on cars. I assume the future is going to look"

"Stellantis hasnt even existed for X years yet. Believe it or not. The car executives know that a shift is coming. They know that they need to get good software set up. Which goes hand in hand with the shift from hundreds individual processors to a centralised big chip. Which is happening right now together with the shift to electric vehicles. My favourite Decoder podcast episodes nowadays are always car CEOs. Just based on how crazy it is having to create machines that will kill people if the software sucks too bad. I also assume its a money thing. They are going to want to charge devs if"
