"Yessss When I have built up a fairly extensive set of pre/post processing scripts which I run to get cleaner results. We capture data with smart phones so dealing with outliers and noise is a big part. Also doing extra bundle adjustment on the colmap reconstruction and some experiments to "densify" the sparse colmap points using either video-depth-anything or a generated alpha mesh that I voxellize to fill in gaps. "We have been using our roborock s8 pro ultra for a year or two now and very happy with it. We went through two other ones before that and felt this time to go for the more higher end hoping for something needing less maintenance and doesnt randomly get stuck. It does indeed work very well both on the path finding and (mostly) object avoidance including socks and cables etc. Not perfect we usually try to clean up toys and mess first to help a good cleaning. "Yeah okay I see so it could integrate well with say other kinds of "application level" alerts or notifications from your robots too and you could for example remote check the view of the robot to further understand the situation. It would make a lot of sense to be able to see them all on some overview map shared too and then "click in" to view details of one robot for example (again imagining a scenario of running multiple robots in some larger facility). I suppose the biggest benefit is that you dont run the computer heavy stuff on the robot saving battery but also making updates of the slam"

Removing lidar input in the self driving and computer vision doesn't mean you cannot use lidar or other depth sensors for safety features like panic breaking which cars have had way before self driving.
